No temporary card (récépissé or autorisation provisoire de séjour) issued upon titre de séjour submission -- not to worry
You have submitted your titre de séjour renewal but don't have any document showing that your right of stay is extended? That's normal, don't worry

Before the Ministry of the Interior established the ANEF (administrationdesetrangers) online system for registration and renewal of visas (titres de séjour) in France, the Préfecture would issue a temporary right of stay, or récépissé/autorisation provisoire de séjour upon in-person submission of the application. This is no longer the case. Under the new system of online submission to the administrationdesetrangers (ANEF) platform, you are merely issued a confirmation of receipt that does not grant working rights or rights of stay. This is most disconcerting for people, since they may very well have an expired titre de séjour and no document that extends their rights of stay in France, while the application is pending with the Préfecture/Ministry of the Interior. However the system does not provide any other means of obtaining a temporary document. This can compromise rights of travel outside of France in some circumstances. Unfortunately this is simply a glitch in the new system. The best thing to do is to submit the renewal request as early as possible, that is to say four months prior to expiration of your titre de séjour.
